Who We Are

Calvary Outreach and Revival Center is a Pentecostal Apostolic church which beliefs are based solely on the Bible, which is the Word of God. We are Pentecostal by experience according to Acts 2:4, Apostolic because we accept the standard of Holy living established by God and heralded by the Apostles in the establishment of the church according to Acts 2:42; I Peter 1:16 OUR AFFILIATION We are affiliated with the Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ (C.O.O.L.J.C.), of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., Founded by the late and honorable Bishop R.C. Lawson, Governed by our Chief Apostle W.L. Bonner. Biblical Expressions of Worship We pray together aloud because in the Bible we read, “They lifted up their voice to God with one accord” (Acts 4:24). We lift our hands in praise because in the Bible we read, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord” (Psalm 134:2). We sing with all our hearts because in the Bible we read, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise” (Psalm 98:4).
We play musical instruments because in the Bible we read, “And all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments” (2 Samuel 6:5). We clap and shout unto God because in the Bible we read, “O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph” (Psalm 47:1). We dance before the LORD because in the Bible we read, “Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs” (Psalm 150:4). We testify publicly because in the Bible we read, “I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee” (Psalm 22:22). We anoint with oil for divine healing because in the Bible we read, “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (James 5:14). We allow the operation of the spiritual gifts because in the Bible we read, “When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation” (1 Corinthians 14:26).

Pentecost

What is Pentecost?

The Spirit came upon the waiting, praying disciples in an overwhelming manner. Their complete commitment to Christ and His commission evoked a mighty baptism of God’s power. This was evidenced initially by their speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4). The Spirit was resident in their lives from that moment. The Spirit-filled early church witnessed many outstanding miraculous happenings (Acts 3:1-7; 4:31). They were able to lead victorious lives as a result of their Pentecostal experience. Two baptisms were disclosed on the day of Pentecost. There was a baptism in the Holy Spirit, and in the Apostle Peter’s message that followed, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ was commanded (Acts 2:38). This outward, physical baptism mysteriously merges with that of the Spirit, and is the “one baptism” of Ephesians 4:5. This is what Jesus referred to as being “born again” in John 3:3-7. And how wonderful to be born into the family of God-changed, transformed, and made a “new creature in Christ Jesus”. No, Pentecost is not a denomination. It is a new birth experience. It is primitive Christianity made relevant to today’s world.

COOLJC

Evangelize the world for Jesus Christ

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.  That there is One God, eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ at His return. We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance, faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, and being baptized in water. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing in prayer. We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a Holy and separated life in this present world. Amen.

Our Core Values

Learn more about our values and our story as a church.

We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the head of our church and fully submit ourselves to His will. In every aspect of our ministry our goal is always to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. Therefore, we submit ourselves to its teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires for us to be.

We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, the ministries and activities our church will be characterized by a reliance on personal and corporate prayer in all areas of our lives and ministry.

We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.

We believe God ordained the family to glorify him. We are committed to cultivate an atmosphere which promotes spiritual growth within the family by reaching families with the gospel, discipling them in Christ-like character and teaching each family member how to fulfill their God-given role.
